How do I check if a motor coach company is safe?
To review a company’s DOT Safety Rating, visit the SAFER website and search by company name, USDOT number, or MC number. The U.S. Department of Transportation assigns safety ratings based on a company’s compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. The highest rating is “Satisfactory,” while other possible ratings include “Conditional,” “Not Rated,” and “Unsatisfactory.” Tri-State Travel holds a DOT safety rating of Satisfactory. Our USDOT number is 104232.
Does the company carry the required amount of insurance?
Tri-State Travel carries $5 million of liability coverage required by the Federal DOT. We can provide you with a certificate of insurance specifying our coverage.

Can Tri-State Travel accommodate large and small groups of passengers?

What is the difference between Luxe and Deluxe Motorcoaches?
Luxe motor coaches feature leather seating with more legroom, updated ambient lighting, and updated entertainment options, including HDMI-in.
What is the company’s procedure for road failures?
Thanks to our rigorous preventative maintenance program, Tri-State Travel maintains a very low roadside failure rate. However, mechanical issues can still occur, even with new motor coaches. To minimize any inconvenience, we have strong connections with local and national carriers and have built longstanding relationships across the country. As members of the American Bus Association and Travel Alliance Partner, we can rely on support from fellow members.
What are the terms and cancellation policies of the charter contract once signed?
Tri-State Travel requires a deposit equal to 25% of the charter price, and is due within 14 days of the contract date.
· Charters canceled 30 or more days prior to departure are subject to a full refund.
· Charters canceled 29-21 days prior to departure are subject to a 25% cancellation fee.
· Charters canceled 20-12 days prior to departure are subject to a 50% cancellation fee.
· Charters canceled 11-4 days prior to departure are subject to a 75% cancellation fee and charters canceled 3 days or less will forfeit all payments.
For trips booked within 30 days of departure, our sales staff will work with each group to ensure they have adequate time to promote their trip. Talk to your sales representative about individual situations that require extra attention. (Tour contracts to not apply to these policies)
